What are games about war usually associated with? With offensive and defensive, with complex operations, with endlessly rattling weapons… This War of Mine Stories – The Last Broadcast project from independent Polish studio 11 bit will tell us a completely different story. The story of Sarajevo – the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina – at the time when it was besieged. The siege lasted almost four years, and during that time a lot has happened in the city… People were trying to survive with little money. Studio 11 bit invites gamers to look at the siege from the inside, taking control of a group of survivors.
Every second there is a risk of looters and snipers attacking, so you must always stay alert, be extremely careful in your actions. It’s suicide to stick out in the daytime. Therefore, to go in search of provisions and medicines will have to wait for the night, but it also requires great care. Daytime should be devoted to other important matters: care for the wounded, manufacturing of weapons, stoves, beds and other useful items, rebuilding the shelter. To keep your people alive in this dangerous world, you often have to make psychologically difficult decisions. To feel the events of those tragic years as much as possible, a special graphics is designed – everything is made in the style of coal painting.
