Northern Canada, October 1970. The town of Kona is visited by the famous private detective Carl Fobert, who is hired by a local rich man, the owner of a mine and hunting grounds William Hamilton, to investigate acts of vandalism committed against his property.
After his arrival, Carl finds the body of his client and finds out from the clippings in the local press that Hamilton was not loved by the locals and even considered a fraud.
