Before you start recording the system will offer you to set the size of the recorded video material. There are two options: either you select a specific area, or leave the “default” settings. In the second case, the whole screen will be recorded.

Not only the video track is created, but also the audio track. Audio is recorded both from the system and the microphone. For example, if you plan to record a movie, it is better to disable the microphone, so that the sound comes only from the system. For Skype conversations, you only need to activate the microphone.
