3Dflow has released a new version of 3DF Zephyr Pro, a standard solution designed for applications such as architecture, archaeology, medicine, dentistry and body scanning. 3DF Zephyr allows you to automatically create 3D models from your photos. The process is fully automated and requires no coding, manual editing or special equipment. The software is based on our proprietary, advanced reconstruction technology. 3DF Zephyr comes with a user-friendly interface and the ability to export to many common 3D formats or can even be used to create lossless video without the need for external tools. You can also create true orthophotos, digital elevation models (DTMs) and even calculate areas, volumes, angles and contour lines. 3DF Zephyr is the ideal tool for modeling.

This powerful tool uses sophisticated technology that frees the user from editing manuals or complex coding operations. 3D reconstruction is simple; generating a 3D model with Zephyr can be done in just a few clicks. Experienced users also have full control over the process, customizing every aspect of the reconstruction phase according to their needs.

The 3D modeling process consists of three phases: Cameras Alignment, Point Dense Cloud Extraction and Surface Extraction, and start with the addition of photos. Zephyr will calculate camera positions and orientation and try to align them before continuing to create a dense point cloud and surface generation. The 3D scene is presented in the center of the screen, which you can navigate by using either of the two available presentation modes.

The application provides assistance to the user at each stage of the process through wizards and simple instructions and the ability to select or set defaults or user-defined settings. Photo processing steps are very demanding in terms of system resources and memory. And while the program’s work on 32-bit processors, 64-bit environments, and the use of CUDA can significantly improve its performance.

The program is exceptionally well documented; this comes with a comprehensive help file and extensive documentation such as tutorials, manuals and example files available for download.
